Cutting Corners

I replay that night at that bar

I replay your hand on my leg in that car

The corners we cut that made it feel like it had been so long

But those corners we cut made me realize I didn’t know you all along.

We missed out on the middle, I got it all confused

You made me the fool and then you made me feel used

Lead on for all the right reasons

In hindsight, they were wrong reasons.

I don’t know how I got it so wrong

I don’t know how to remember to forget that song.
